The Century Families Project aims to acknowledge and celebrate families whose ancestors settled in Strathcona County 100 years ago or more. By sharing their stories, we carry forward a lasting memory of early settlers--one that marks their footprints in time for future generations. We want to celebrate our local history and heritage, and build connections in the community from one generation to the next.

Pull up a chair and read about the compelling lives of the Gabert family, Krebs family, McEachern family, Mohr family, Prochnau family and the Schneider family.

The vision of Strathcona County’s Community Heritage Legacy Initiative is to foster a strong community where residents learn about the area and people of the past, and are thereby inspired and share a sense belonging, identity and place from their appreciation of the County’s unique history and heritage.
