Public invited to the ‘Great Pumpkin Drop’ at Fire Station 6

Strathcona County is inviting the community to put their Halloween pumpkins to a good second use as part of the ‘Great Pumpkin Drop’ at Fire station 6. This event is part of Emergency Services’ fundraising efforts to support those affected by Muscular Dystrophy.

Meet the Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games ambassadors

Strathcona County is excited to introduce its three new ambassadors for the 2023 Special Olympics Alberta Winter Games, taking place February 24 to 26. The combined energy of Madison Bailey-Borges, Declan Fawcett and Evan James are sure to generate excitement leading up to the Games, as well as foster feelings of connectedness between athletes and the community.

New bylaw focuses on responsible livestock ownership

A new, modernized and enhanced Responsible Livestock Ownership Bylaw has replaced the Animal Control and Apiculture Bylaws. Approved by Council on October 4, 2022, Bylaw 53-2022 is effective immediately.
