Spring Job Fair coming to Sherwood Park

Job seekers and local and regional businesses are invited to connect at the Spring Job Fair in Sherwood Park on Thursday, March 16.

Job seekers: meet potential employers and employment support agencies. Learn about job openings, submit resumes and connect with businesses. Several businesses will be ready to receive resumes, cover letters, and applications. There will also be support organizations who assist with career advice, financial literacy, interview techniques, resume writing, and job searching.

Businesses: meet motivated workers and let them know about your company and employment positions. Email scedt@strathcona.ca by March 10 to reserve your table.

Spring Job Fair
Thursday, March 16, 2023
4 to 7 p.m.
Agora, Strathcona County Community Centre, Sherwood Park

Over 400 local businesses shared their thoughts with the County in late 2021 through phone surveys and interviews. From the survey findings, Strathcona County’s Economic Development and Tourism department has customized its business service programming. The availability of both skilled labour and entry level positions were common challenges. Workforce development programs such as the job fair help to sustain and retain a viable workforce.

The County also recently held a youth employment series to help remove barriers to gaining employment for youth, and to increase the supply of entry-level workers.  The event was well attended by both businesses seeking workers and youth seeking employment. The recorded series is available on Strathcona County’s website.

Strathcona County is committed to helping businesses remain in the community and expand. This creates jobs, strengthens the local economy and encourages diversification of different industries.
