Benefits of performing arts

Entertainment is an obvious aspect of performing arts, yet there are numerous health benefits that can be gained from participating and ‘playing’ in a performing arts program. The element of ‘play’ in performing arts allows participants to be creative. Creativity supports the development to think outside the box while gaining confidence and trust. Play can lead to laughter, which is recognized to reduce stress. Flexibility, coordination, and balance are attained through movement, which is an aspect of each program. Performing arts programs help develop skills used to focus the mind and the body by using imagination.

These individuals will not only experience the joy of a performing art, the benefits of the program are vast. Self esteem, team work, cognitive, motor, language, social and emotional development are many of the benefits an individual can experience and adapt for a better quality of life.

Group bookings and field trips

A large group of teenagers with their backs to the camera are on the Festival Place stage looking towards a teacher. The stage is light with blue lighting.

Performing arts group bookings are available with guided tours and field trips to Festival Place. Behind-the-scenes tours of our spaces are available for any age, skill and activity level.
