Residential streets are classified as Priority 4 roads and are cleared when the snow depth reaches 7 cm of compacted snow.

Watch for orange Residential Street Snow Removal signs posted in your neighbourhood.

• Signs will include dates parking is not permitted.
• It may take up to 10-12 days to remove the snow from all neighbourhoods in Sherwood Park.  

Please remove vehicles from the road

To allow for safe and efficient snow removal, drivers have a responsibility to remove their vehicles from affected roadways when parking restrictions are in place.

Please remove all vehicles from residential streets during the timeframe posted on the orange signs in your neighbourhood. Officers are authorized to issue a $250 ticket and tow on any vehicle in violation of parking restrictions.

Not sure where to park?

During residential street snow clearing, parking is permitted on  collector roads (185.9 KB) marked with "snow route when declared" signs.

Parking is permitted on residential streets again after the snow has been removed.

Residential snow depth measurement

County crews measure 20 locations throughout urban areas to get an average depth of compacted snow. Measurements are updated weekly based on new snowfall or thawing from warmer temperatures
