Intersection change at Chippewa Road and Kaska Road to improve safety and traffic flow

Drivers on Chippewa Road should be prepared to stop at the Kaska Road (east) intersection, as of July 5.

The intersection is changing to a three-way stop to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

A marked pedestrian crossing will also be put in place on the east side of Chippewa Road to support better pedestrian connectivity. Parking will also be restricted on either side of Chippewa Road near the intersection to maintain sightlines and improve driver understanding.

Remember to use caution at intersections:

• Always come to a full stop at a stop sign.
• At a three-way stop, remember the Right of Way rules. This means you must give right of way to the first vehicle at the intersection or if two vehicles arrive at the same time, then yield to the vehicle on your right.  
• Ensure vehicles approaching or stopped at the intersection are giving right of way, before you proceed.
• Always check for pedestrians as they have the right of way.

The County will alert drivers to the new three-way stop with road signage leading up to the intersection.
